Starting Your Website
The most important step in creating your site is the planning stage. It is during this process ideas begin to take shape. There are several questions that first need to be answered:
- What is the purpose of my site?
- Determine your passion
- Share your knowledgable
- Draw a rough draft of your site by pencil first
- Do several drafts if possible
- Get feedback from others
- How am I going to interact with my site users?
- Are you going to use any of the following?
- Online forms
- Blogs
- Shopping Carts
- The more interactive the more likely you will have to learn scripting language or utilize third party software
- Are you going to use any of the following?
Once you are ready to begin publishing your site you will need four things:
- A domain name
- A hosting company
- A way to design your website
- A way to transfer your website files to the web server provided by your hosting company
